Come join us at noon on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday each month upstairs at the Wild Laurel Club House!
The Townsend Kiwanis Club is initiating a membership drive and we had a social event to recognize donors and recruit new members. The Meet and Greet was held at the Wild Laurel Club House on September 29th.
The purpose of this social gathering was to present our Club’s interim and long-term projects to help Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, Hearts and Hands Scholarship Fund, Townsend Elementary, and Walland Elementary School children. Several of our new City Commissioners attended, including Mayor Don Prater and wife Julie.
We briefed our new elected City Commissioners, prospective new members, and business leaders about our upcoming service projects and presented Letters of Recognition to some of our long-term donors. Everyone also enjoyed the views of the golf course, appetizers, and social event. We distributed door prizes donated by local businesses – Peaceful Side Social, Townsend IGA, Barry Spruce Photography, and Bear Grounds.
